Enjoying the vintage accessories @shopodysseygoods last weekend @mainx24 Odyssey Goods is a great resource for finding vintage clothing and accessories in Chattanooga. You can see her IG stories for the current inventory. Buying second hand is better for the environment—plus you own a piece of clothing with a history and stories of the people who loved it before you. And you are supporting Chattanooga’s local economy plus a woman-led small business? How cool is that! #rethinkclothing #conscientiousconsumer #chattanoogalocal #womenofchattanooga #chattanoogafashion #chattanooga #chattanoogatn
Spent the afternoon practicing my #furoshiki skilz to share with you all tomorrow for a zero waste gift wrapping demonstration/get-together tomorrow at #mainx24 ! Everyone is invited! We are meeting at GreenSpaces at 11:30am, right after the parade. If you have some gifts you would like to wrap, bring them along with a large cloth to wrap it in! I’m also going to show you how to use a T-shirt to wrap furoshiki style! #zerowastechattanooga #zerowastegiftwrapping #mainx24event #mainx242019 #greenspaces #greenspaceschatt #chattanoogacares #sustainablechattanooga
The Habitat for Humanity Restore on Main Street has a clothes and shoes recycle bin. Of course, recycling is the absolute last thing you should do with clothing. It’s likely lots of the stuff put in the bin still ends up in a landfill. Before recycling a price of clothing, first you should repair it, repurpose it (shirts make great rags!), or donate it if it is still wearable. These shoes were beyond repair and reuse! #refusereducereuserecycle #restorechattanooga #habitatforhumanityrestore #ipreferbarefeetanyway #chattanooga #chattanoogatn
#Grateful for #CompostHouse providing compost services at @causeway MLK potluck dinner today! We brought our own plates and silverware and were encouraged to see a few others doing so as well! And a huge shoutout to Brittany Cowart and others from @chattavegan who provided an amazing spread of delicious vegan delicacies! #ZeroWaste #ZeroWasteChattanooga #compost #reducereuserecycle #veganfood #veganthanksgiving
